Beginning a new sermon series starting this Reformation Sunday, October 27th (502 years since Martin Luther posted his 95 thesis on the Wittenburg Church door). The five solae (from Latin, sola, lit. “alone”) of the Protestant Reformation are a foundational set of principles held by theologians and clergy to be central to the doctrine of salvation as taught by the Lutheran and Reformed branches of Protestantism. Each sola represents a key belief in the Lutheran and Reformed traditions. We will begin this new series with Sola Scriptura–The WORD Alone.
Then……
Sola Gratia — Grace Alone
Sola Fide — Faith Alone
Solo Christo — Christ Alone
Soli Deo Gloria — Glory to God Alone
