Message from Pastor Edward

Dear Providence Church Family

We live in an interesting time with a remarkably fluid health situation. We all want to contribute to reducing and ultimately stamping out this Covid-19 in our community and nation. We will all do our part by washing our hands frequently, self-quarantining if we’re not feeling well, practicing social distancing and listening to our leadership when they say: stop meeting in large groups. Meetings increase the transmission rates. Any groups of 10 or more are being discouraged.
In light of this, our elders have decided to cancel services, SS, Bible Studies, et cetera for the next two weeks at Providence. We will reassess this after 14 days.   None of us wants to miss gathering for Easter but….this may last a while. This is uncharted territory for all of us! It requires patience and faith.
I will post a video on Providence Facebook page a few times a week to keep all of us connected. I plan to provide a short reflection for us all, for the next two Sundays as a meditation on living in times of crises–this will be available on FB.
What about church? Well, it’s hard not to meet at all! Why not consider gathering as a family, or by yourself, in your own home and have a time of reflection on the Word, singing, and praying? Let’s be creative! We can think in novel ways about how to share the love of Christ and live the gospel. Interact on social media, call people, and most of all pray during this time.
By grace
Pastor Edward
