I trust and pray that you had a restful, secluded and worshipful Sunday. Perhaps you availed of the resources we provided on our website and Facebook page (and my short video messages to the Providence Family) or perhaps you’ve listened to wonderful sermons and services online and on TV!….now I want to add this idea…
If you’re not reading Scripture regularly, I can’t imagine a better time to begin. This is a foundational way to fix your eyes on Jesus. Like the Israelites with Caleb and Joshua, we must decide whose report we will believe. Will we believe reports that are rooted in fear? Or will we believe the God who tells us that absolutely nothing can separate us from His love and that He is causing all things to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose? If you’re not sure where to start, here are two ideas:
1. Read through the New Testament in 90 days (about three chapters per day) with this plan — https://www.bible.com/reading-plans/18692-the-new-testament-in-90-days.
Please feel free to call me if you have questions. I would love to hear from you about what you are reading!
2. Try the Discovery Bible Study approach on your own or with your family.  For more, go to https://www.dbsguide.org/. Watch the short video. Download the discussion guide. Download the recommended passages of Scripture. And get started. Simplicity of approach is key here.
I miss seeing you, but my dear church family, if we are going to stop this virus in its tracks we must starve it of oxygen–by not gathering with others and minimizing our social contact for a season.
Please know that I am praying for each of you by name every day.
Your friend and pastor
